The Planning Partnership prepared a landscape plan for a major condominium development proposed on the last remaining block of the Humber Shores community, overlooking the Humber Bay. The prominent site fronts onto Lake Ontario and a major park destination for which the landscape design serves as a complement and transition into the development blocks.
The landscape was designed to reinforce the gateway location and the signature landmark qualities of the proposed towers. At the same time the space provides a transition from a highly urban and formal context to a more natural and organic one. The concept integrates with adjacent open space lands to create a coherent landscape that includes mid-block pedestrian connections, passive and active green areas, a plaza, reflecting pool, and environmentally sustainable storm water management channels and wetlands.
