The Planning Partnership was recently retained by the Bloorcourt Village BIA to prepare a long-term strategy for capital improvements to the streetscape along Bloor Street. The process involved a community visioning workshop to help define the area’s unique assets to and to indentify a vision for improving the public realm. The study identified a number of focus areas that would be transformed into community gathering spaces, which would also be designed to accommodate festivals and events. A coordinated approach for enhancing the streetscape included guidance for furnishing, landscaping, paving treatments, public art sites and wayfinding. Short, medium and long-term actions with costing were identified to provide the BIA with guidance for implementing the changes.
