Regent Park Park is 5.2 acre park, designed to be the multi-functional heart of this transformed urban neighbourhood. Four key initiatives will knit the park into the local community: multi-functional open spaces with lawns and trees, an integrated urban agriculture hub with greenhouse and community garden beds, extensive children’s play areas with all-ages waterplay, and a permanent public art feature that expresses the cultural memory of the changing neighbourhood. The design provides pedestrian and visual connections to the revitalized area developing around the park’s perimeter. At its east end, the park wraps around the Regent Park Aquatic Centre, which recently earned a City of Toronto Urban Design Award for public building in context. The Planning Partnership prepared the site plan for this important civic feature.
