The Planning Partnership’s extensive waterfront experience includes a variety of projects, from regional scale multidisciplinary studies for lakes and rivers, to master plans guiding development, to detailed design and implementation of parks and the public realm at the water’s edge. Our landscape architects, urban designers, planners, ecologists and specialists in communication and engagement are all involved in our waterfront master plans. As project managers, we also lead teams of specialists who assist with marina and shoreline works, natural and cultural heritage and architecture.

Our master plans are developed based on a thorough understanding of context, exploration of options and careful design of a preferred direction with strategies for implementation that include costing, phasing and assigning responsibilities. All of our master plans are developed within the framework of an open and collaborative process of broad-based community consultation where the public and stakeholders are involved at decision-making milestones in every phase. The Planning Partnership has led waterfront plans such as:
