The Planning Partnership (TPP) has provided planning and urban design expertise for York University’s Keele Campus for the past 15+ years. TPP’s involvement began with the Secondary Plan for the Keele Campus, where TPP acted in the role of project manager for York University, responsible for managing the preparation of technical background reports, analysis of options and working with City staff to prepare policy. TPP then completed the Master Plan for the Keele Campus, which identified a framework guiding development for the next period of growth. The Master Plan was developed through university-wide consultation that included a roving information booth, open houses, focus group sessions with faculty, staff and students, special presentations and a comprehensive social media campaign.

The Master Plan has been used to evaluate sites and has proven to be a sound framework for site evaluation and selection, including the site for the recently completed engineering building, the PanAm Stadium and the new student centre for which The Planning Partnership subsequently completed City planning and by-law approvals.
