RON PALMER | BES, MCIP, RPP
Principal, Land Use + Policy Planning

Ron is a planner and Principal at TPP.  He graduated from the University of Waterloo in 1983, and now has over 35 years of planning consulting experi­ence.  Ron is a full member of the Canadian Institute of Planners and the Ontario Professional Planners Institute, and he is a Registered Professional Planner.  Ron is also a member of the American Planners Association and Lambda Alfa International, a global land economics society. 

Ron has completed successful projects throughout Ontario, across Canada and in the United States where his extensive land use and planning policy expertise has been utilized in Official Plans/Secondary Plans, Implementing Zoning By-Laws, Development Approvals, Waterfront Plans, Downtown Plans, Parkland Strategies, Planning Research and Imple­mentation Strategies.  Ron has been involved in many of the firm’s award-winning projects. 

Ron’s deep understanding of the possibilities of planning policy results in strategies that are innovative and implementable. Working with the public to overcome the fear of change, Ron elevates the conversation by clearly identifying the issues and accurately discussing opportunities for the future. Clients appreciate his commitment to a collaborative process and his ability to appropriately guide future growth and development.

Ron has lectured at the University of Toronto, University of Waterloo and at the University of Guelph.  He has prepared articles for the OPPI Journal and Ground - the professional journal of the OALA.  He presented at EDCO, OPPI and CIP Conferences.  In his spare time, Ron is the Vice-Chair of the Bloor-Yorkville BIA, and is Chair of the Planning, Preservation and Urban Design Committee.
