Associate, Landscape Architect

Tyler is an Associate with over 10 years combined experience in landscape architecture, planting and garden design, and urban design. He holds a Bachelor of Environmental Studies in Planning with Honours specializing in Urban Design from the University of Waterloo, a Diploma in Landscape Architecture from the Edinburgh College of Art, and a Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Toronto.

 Tyler has been instrumental in a variety of projects at the intersection of horticulture, ecology, and the public realm. He led the design and development of the Guild Park Horticulture Plan and is currently involved in master planning for Odell and Killarney Lake Parks in Fredericton. His work includes planting plans for influential projects in the region such as Lee Lifeson Art Park in North York and Queen’s Park in Toronto. In addition to plants and ecosystems, Tyler has worked at all stages of design including conceptual, schematic, and detailed design development as well as contract administration on projects ranging from streetscape design for the Ossington Strip, contract administration for Queen’s Park North, schematic design for Riverside Square in Toronto, and landscape design for various private developments within the GTA and the Waterloo Region.

 Tyler’s work and education span a range from planting details to master planning giving him a broad knowledge of the components that necessitate good design at any scale. This experience gives Tyler the ability to manage projects from conceptual development to construction and allows him to pull from a wide range of influences towards timeless, well-detailed design solutions.
